Today’s name is MARY’s BIRTHDAY.  Virgin Mary was born on this day. It is also called Our Lady’s Day. Her parents were Joachim and Anna.

According to the early Christian faith Mary was the mother of Jesus as well as the second Eve. He corrected the sins of Eve by giving birth to the saviour of the world.

This day is also the United Nations’ international day for the ability to write and read. In other words: the day against illiteracy.
