This day’s name is MARCELLINUS’ DAY. The Christian Roman citizen Marcellinus Exorsista was because of his faith beheaded in year 304 AC during the reign of emperor Diocletian.
The legend says that when his remains later were moved to Müllenheim blind and deaf people and people with other physical handicaps were cured on that spot.
In Belgium the day’s name is almost the same – SAINTS MARCELLIN ET PIERRE – about two – not just one – Christian, who were killed in Rome in 304.
